“I’m not very good at making specific plans. Just meet me under the sky somewhere and be alive with me.” Victoria Erickson
The following blog post snippet stole my heart this evening…words of wisdom from women who love to run with wolf hearts. Reblogged from RHAPSODYBOHÈME.
” The dictionary defines abandon as a complete lack of inhibition and restraint. A wildness and impulsiveness, impetuous in the pursuit of your dreams that I relate to thinking less and letting the heart rule your happiness. To turn off the noise by overthinking everything and to just take the leap of faith to feel young and innocent as you felt as a child. To cease to support and desert, which means for me letting go of the conventional demands of society and to give up completely the things that tie me to a life filled with expectations and demands.”
My weird obsession with Neil Gaiman became public knowledge ever since I started this blog in 2016. I’m currently on a major ‘life cleanse’ but had to share this post today. One of my first followers, who would soon become a very special burst of stardust to me, was RHAPSODYBOHÈME . I truly feel that some friendships have been pre-carved somewhere out there in space, waiting for you to find each other. Her blog is truly inspirational and her deep love of nature reminds me that warrior women of the earth still exist. On my worst days, I look at the photographs she shares and it fuels the dreams I’ve set for myself in the past two years. It reminds me that however beautiful my present may be, my future is going to be dazzling with more magic and beauty. She often has to read my posts about Neil Gaiman (NOT Neil Diamond, lol) and so she decided to take a chance with one of my book recommendations, The Graveyard Book. I am honored that she has done so and hope she discovers something of herself in the pages of one of my most cherished book favorites. Reading is bewitching and beguiling. And to share that gift with special people…that is irreplaceable. Please read her blog…follow her, comment…she’s used to people like me being creepy, so she really won’t mind! 🙂
I heard that reading is to the brain what exercise is to the body. Well, if that is truly the case, then I have exercised my brain for a long time indeed. Just in case I haven’t mentioned it already, it’s no secret that I love books and I developed a passion early on for […]
Seriously guys! I’ve only been around for a little more than a month in the blogosphere and this is my 3rd blogger award. But wait…what is the Sunshine Blogger Award?
” The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are inspiring and bring sunshine into the lives of their readers and fellow bloggers. It is such an honor to receive! “
…me? The girl that dresses in black everyday and whose highlight of the day is a game of who can hiss first with her black (of course!) cat? Mmmmm…
🙂 But super seriously now…Thank you so much to Universe Unexplored for finding me amusing or inspiring 🙂 It’s awesome to know that my little blog is being read and having an impact on others out there. So yes, as acceptance and part of the award rules, I’ll answer the questions asked by Universe Unexplored.
1. What is your idea on true love?
I believe the above quote from Woody Allen’s movie Midnight in Paris (2011) sums up love. True love isn’t Hollywood fairy-tales of princesses and prince charming, it is a genuine connection that you make which tests your bravery. You can love and remain a coward standing on the edges of life…or you can truly love. Food for thought.
2.What is easier? To love or to be loved?
Both are equally difficult and equally easy. It’s all about perspective and depends on the individual or relation.
3.Do you believe that we only have one life or do you believe in reincarnation?
I’ve had waaay too many bizarre experiences to deny that reincarnation exists. Nature is cyclic so I don’t see why life couldn’t extend beyond death and time.
4.What do you think is the meaning of life?
The meaning of life is finding whatever gives you the feeling that Mabel and Waddles have in the above pic. Fun times, special connections and awesomeness. Oh…and glitter! Lots of it 🙂
5.Are you the same person you were five years ago?
I’m barely the same person I was five seconds ago! Change is what makes life so exciting. I think I’ve managed to grow and find myself in the last five years so I’m pretty darn grateful.
6.How do you know you are not dreaming right now?
I’m always dreaming 🙂
7.What is the best dream you had that you want to come true?
The best dream I’ve had already came true, and a lady never tells her secrets :p
8.If you could time travel, where would you go? To the future or to the past?
I’m super curious to see where the world is going so I’d definitely travel to the future. Maybe the year 2090…hopefully there’ll be steampunk cyber outfits to wear.
9.If you could be any super hero or any famous person dead or alive for a day, who would you choose?
Oh that’s obvioso 😀
Why Buffy Summers? Because I’d get to kick ass as comfort food and have my own scooby- gang to pun along right next to me.
10.If you could choose to change something about this world, what would it be?
I’d make bigotry disappear. I believe it’s the root of all evil. I’d replace it with more kindness…and cats. The world needs more cats 🙂
For all those being nominated for the award, the rules are, if you choose to accept it (which I hope you will) : please write a post to share the award, and answer the following set of questions ( chosen by each nominated blogger) and nominate any number of bloggers you feel deserve the award.
My five randomly chosen questions (if you choose to accept) are :
What is something that you have to do in your daily routine, that brings you sanity?
What quirk do you find attractive in romantic partners?
If you could have any song be a ‘theme song’ to your life, what would it be?
If you could go back in time what would you tell your 8 year old self?
What is your favorite childhood book and why?
Happy blogging and remember to read a book today. Be literate, don’t do drugs yadda yadda yadda 😉
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…oh wait no! That’s not how my story starts. Quite frankly I’m at a loss for words here. I started this blog about a month or so ago and I thought I’d be writing to myself (my life is a perpetual conversation to myself, no lies!) and yet somehow I’ve managed to make some great friends in cyberspace, who are not only talented but really supportive of the written word. In the real world I suffer from an inability to express myself properly …
Buffyisms made up for that though, thankfully, and I manage to get by with the whole social interaction thing. But I am most myself and ‘free’ when surrounded by reading, writing and illustrating. It’s those little things!
My blog is literature-based and will involve anything academic related, book related, illustrations, comic talk, quotes, screenplays, poetry, songwriting…you get the pic?Anything really that allows us expression through words. I decided to start this blog whilst sitting in Copywriting class (I’m a freelance Copywriter and Illustrator) in August 2016 and I’m hoping to
structure my journey through my post graduate English Literature studies (see my About page for more on that)
find a creative release that will impact on others out there
This is what we do in the blogosphere. We write. We share. And we add something to a person’s day. It may be something cute to laugh at (kitten GIFs) or a tiny seed that starts a person thinking about something greater (world domination…inception…who knows?!).
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to Written In Geek (Geek/Writer/Mother…need we say anything more awesome about you?). I stumbled across her blog post Top Ten Sci-Fi Captains quite recently and even though she broke my heart by not placing my man Han Solo & his Falcon at No.1 she had me hooked. If you need more convincing that her blog goes well with a morning cup of coffee go check it out for yourself here.
So what do the nominees have to do?
The Rules :
Write a post to show your award
Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
Attach the award to the post
Give a brief story of how your blog started
Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers
Select 5 other blogs you want to give the award to
My advice to other bloggers out there…just be badass. Your attitude to life is everything! And it reflects in your writing.
Do what you love, listen to constructive criticism and follow your gut instinct. Blogging can be time-consuming and quite frankly difficult (there are people out there that think bloggers are freaks, lol)…but if you believe you have something to say that you want others to hear, and you think that cyberspace is the right place for that…then by all means go for it!
Since I am fairly new on the radar, I’m not familiar with too many blogs just yet! However, I would like to nominate the following 5 blogs (if I left you out, there’s always a next time):
