When Souls Dance.

Original illustration (above) by Kamalini Govender (author of Of Tales & Dreams).

When Lust asks you to dance

you tango and you erase

its filthy paw prints

from your body.

When Love asks you to dance

you waltz and ride

the ebb and flow

of its tiresome tide.

When Curiosity asks you to dance

you fox trot and toss it

from your playground when you’re done.

But when Souls find Souls…

and ask each other to dance

time is inconsequential

and you keep the melody

humming through your head

as your bodies find a primal dance

that cannot be named.

There is

drumming

humming

succumbing.

Even when the music stops.

And the dance turns to memory

memory turns to time

time to dust.

I'm that girl that looks badass in her black boots reading Gothic Psychoanalytic Lit but really just wants to pew pew pew with someone.

      1. Good for you because in the end it is the wild choices, the moments when we took a risk that we remember and the daily routine and the ordinary moments fall to the wayside.
        Have a great day yourself.

    1. Kinda resonates with the idea of unconditional love that you posted about. Soul mate connections are made of unconditional love…it defies logic and hardly ever fits into the typical boxes society brainwashes us to believe are the correct ways to achieve peace or happiness. To live with kindness and appreciate what little joys we get in life…it’s all we can ask for. Thanks for stopping by 🙂

      1. I’m overwhelmed by your view on my post unconditional love.

My only motive to write that was to showcase the power of unconditional and uncomplaining love any two people share. It may be between a mother and child, dog and its owner. Or any two persons all they share is love, which has no conditions. 🙂

      2. Absolutely true! And yet, it’s a concept we all struggle to understand. I’ve spent most of my life not truly getting it…but when you start to wrap your head around it, life seems a lot more precious and much more simple. Good luck with your writing 🙂
