First Steps

Art by Julie Filipenko

Somewhere in the midst of the confusion and chaos, she delicately slides her fingers across the pages of a new adventure. The reality of the physical space she inhabits finds itself dissipating, and her feet plant themselves firmly into the land of imagination. This has always been her land. Her home. Her safe space. There’s a bejeweled crown fixed upon her head and a sword sheathed safely at her side. This is the end…the middle…the beginning. This is the soft pause at the comma, the final gasp at the full stop and the ambiguity at the plunge of the ellipsis. Follow me.

I'm that girl that looks badass in her black boots reading Gothic Psychoanalytic Lit but really just wants to pew pew pew with someone.
